Teaching English With Purpose and Precision
I'm a qualified English teacher with over 15 years of experience in the classroom — and I've spent much of that time helping students unlock their potential in GCSE English. As an active GCSE examiner, I bring a level of insight into what examiners are genuinely looking for that goes beyond what a typical tutor can offer.
I created the 12-week Literature Masterclasses because I saw so many capable students being held back — not by lack of ability, but by gaps in knowledge, structure and confidence. This programme addresses all three.

Who is this programme suitable for?
The Fundamentals of English Programme is designed for Year 10 and Year 11 students who want to build a strong foundation in GCSE English. Whether your child is aiming to improve from a Level 4 to a 6, or pushing from a 7 towards an 8 or 9, the programme is tailored to support students at different starting points.
Is it suitable for AQA?
Yes — the programme is primarily designed around the AQA specification for both English Language and English Literature. If your child sits a different examination board, please get in touch and we can discuss how the programme content may still apply.
Will my child receive personalised support?
Absolutely. Every student begins with an initial assessment so we understand exactly where they are and what they need to focus on. The programme is then tailored around those individual needs, meaning no two students follow an identical path through the nine months.
What topics are covered?
The programme covers all five AQA Literature texts, as well as the full range of English Language reading and writing skills — including analytical writing, creative writing, descriptive writing, transactional writing, persuasive writing, and unseen poetry and prose. Exam technique, essay structure, and revision strategies are woven throughout.
